No Light

Last night was the first race of the No Light series. My Time went out to the start in the light wind. By the start, we had around 10 knots of breeze; enough to race and have a fairly good time.

We had a fairly dismal start. Our position wasn’t really all that bad, it’s just that we were obstructed by a pack of boats at the start who pretty much refused to give way. It wasn’t worth the protest, but was annoying. After that, we got around the course all right, just didn’t seem to be able to make the speed we should. One of those nights, I guess.

We didn’t finish last, but we didn’t finish where we should have. Still, a very nice night on the water.

Sun is down earlier now, but there is no mistaking the heat and humidity for anything but summer.

Ms. race is this weekend. We hope the forecast thunderstorms leave some room for the race.
